Our guest this year: movie producer Carole Keeney Harrington.

Carole Keeney Harrington is a journalist turned filmmaker. She had been an award-winning journalist at the Houston Chronicle. Ms. Harrington also worked in higher education, where she ran the communications division for the college, including the TV station; she made a number of educational films.

Carole Keeney Harrington will present the movie “Pussy Riot the Movement” for which she wrote the script and produced. The film follows the women from their punk rock performance to prison and back. It features dissidents, artists, lawyers and people like Pussy Riot members who have been in prison on trumped up charges. Its theme is the Russian Constitution, which is based on western democratic principles such as free speech, freedom of the press and the rule of law. The movie documents the disdain of the country’s president towards those ideals.
