Opening Reception and a meeting with the artist:
Friday, May 4, 7:30p.m.

During 55 years of his artistic career Konstantyn Sylin had worked with various media: horn carving, ceramics, print-making, oil, and pastel. But his favorite media is watercolor. From 1960 till present the artist has created hundreds of watercolors: landscapes, portraits, still-life and abstract compositions.

А great number of his pictures had been created during and after his visits to many places and countries. He worked in Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and the USA. His dramatic and gorgeous technique combined with lyricism and distinctive artistic manner made him unique and one of the top watercolor artists in Ukraine.

The artworks by Konstantyn Sylin are presented in many museums of Ukraine, Russia and Moldova. Many of his watercolors had also been purchased by art collectors from Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Japan, Russia, Ukraine and USA.

The album of Sylin’s watercolors had been published in Germany by Deutsche Bank Arts.

Since his arrival to Pensacola, FL in 2004, Konstantyn Sylin had been a constant participant at the Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival and many other art shows in Florida and Alabama. He had also had several solo exhibitions, at the Art Gallery of United Methodist Church, the Foley Art Center, ART PRAHA European Gallery, FL, and the Gallery of South Alabama University, Mobil AL. Presently the artist lives and works in Houston.
